What does Cognus detect?

It assesses alertness and drowsiness through a psychomotor test (PVT), determining whether the worker is in suitable condition to start the shift safely.

Why choose Cognus?

It uses the PVT test, considered the gold standard for measuring fatigue.

Accurate, consistent, and reliable results.

Tests tailored to your operation (90, 120, or 180 seconds).

Modular solution with easy installation.

Intuitive and easy to use for workers.

Online, real-time visualization and alerts for results.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the PVT test measure?

The PVT (Psychomotor Vigilance Test) measures attention levels and reaction times in response to visual stimuli. It is considered the most accurate and reliable tool internationally for detecting sleep-related fatigue and loss of alertness.

Unlike other tests, the PVT does not require an individual baseline, can be administered every day without losing validity, and has been validated by institutions such as NASA, Harvard, and the Walter Reed Army Institute. It can detect even small amounts of sleep loss.

It is a personalized prediction of how the worker’s fatigue will evolve throughout the shift, based on their PVT result, start time, sleep debt, and other factors. It allows critical moments to be anticipated and preventive actions to be taken.
